Business In Focus – Cosmic Cave

business in focus

For this weeks Business In Focus we will be interviewing Emma who is the owner of Cosmic Cave. Emma started this business with a passion for home fragrance, crystals and spirituality. She does everything from planning, testing, making, packing & shipping so nothing but hard work and dedication goes into every single step of the process!

Everything you see is lovingly hand-made by her with only the best of intentions or carefully sourced with love and care. Only the highest quality ingredients go into making her candles & other items and extensive testing is carried out across the board.

Who is your advisor?

Nathan & Katina

How long have you been receiving business advice from the WSBC?

Around 3 weeks

What was the main struggle you identified within your business?

Definitely the social media/advertising side of things. Growing an organic audience and getting your name out there was much harder than I anticipated!

What were things you implemented that had a big impact on your business moving forward?

Hashtags were a huge thing that, I feel, made a big difference! Also, joining various Facebook groups and marketplace have helped!

What advice would you give to other small businesses in the same situation?

Spend time researching your competitors. See what works for them and what you think could work for you. Ask your customers and followers what they want and if you’re stuck, contact WSBC because they are extremely helpful!

What are your business goals for the future?

My goals for the future are to become a recognisable brand, to increase my product range and to grow my following!
