I have more than 15 years of direct experience owning, operating and managing small businesses, having established my first business in 2010.

I currently own and operate three businesses across different areas, giving me extensive hands-on experience in the day-to-day realities of small business ownership. My experience includes business planning and strategy， marketing， sales， social media， customer service， administration， financial management， product development， e-commerce， events， business development， client retention and managing growth and change.
In addition to my own businesses， I am President of an incorporated association， which has further developed my experience in leadership， governance， stakeholder management， networking， partnerships and community engagement.

Alex Hawkins is an experienced business advisor, entrepreneur and marketing professional with more than 25 years of experience across small business, sales, marketing and customer service. For the past 12 years, she has supported hundreds of businesses through the NSW Government’s Business Connect program, helping business owners at every stage, from start-up through to growth and expansion. Alongside her advisory work, Alex has founded and operated several businesses, giving her first-hand experience of the opportunities and challenges that come with running a small business.

What qualifications and business experience do you have?

I have a bachelor degree in Business (Major Marketing) and have run my own small businesses since 2010 – 14 years

I have worked in corporate sales since 17 years of age, 27 years.

What is the best part/your favourite thing about your role?

I enjoy helping people to realise their dreams and aspirations through personal and professional growth

What do you find most rewarding when helping small businesses?

It is rewarding to see people, start, grow and achieve their goals!

Seeing some one start something they thought they couldn’t and seeing someone be successful at it!
